No. Prior experience can help, but it is not required. Coachability, accountability, availability, and the ability to apply instruction consistently matter more. JTFO will teach its standards and procedures.

Dual-unit membership is strictly forbidden and harshly enforced. You may maintain personal friendships in other communities, but you may not simultaneously serve as a member, trainee, reservist, or operational participant in another Arma 3 unit while belonging to JTFO. All current affiliations must be disclosed during recruitment; concealing or maintaining dual membership may result in immediate removal.

Join the JTFO Discord and submit the website application. After a successful submission, your private recruitment ticket opens automatically. Applicants who advance complete initial screening and an interview, followed by Assessment & Selection and a formal selection board. Selected candidates then attend the Operator Training Course before progressing into professional development and team integration. Course lengths and detailed timelines are intentionally withheld for a reason and are provided to candidates at the appropriate stage. Progression is performance-based throughout the entire pipeline.

JTFO recruits by class and unit capacity rather than promising a fixed year-round intake. Applications may open or pause as Assessment & Selection and OTC classes fill. The enlistment portal and official JTFO announcements are the authoritative sources for the current recruiting status.

Yes, but JTFO will not allow a friend group larger than one buddy team—two people total—to move through the entry pipeline at the same time. Each applicant must open an individual recruitment ticket, submit their own application, and meet every standard independently. Applying together does not guarantee that both applicants will advance or receive the same assignment.

Joint Task Force Olympus was established in 2023. The organization has continued to refine its training, operating procedures, and supporting systems while maintaining its focus on hardcore Arma 3 realism.

JTFO's leadership brings experience in Arma 3 milsim, mission planning, instruction, team management, and unit administration. The unit does not advertise an inflated combined-years figure; applicants are encouraged to judge the leadership team by the clarity of the recruitment process, the quality of instruction, and the standards consistently enforced in training and operations.

Time in service varies from person to person, but JTFO maintains an extremely high retention rate after OTC. Operators very rarely leave the unit or are removed once they have completed the entry pipeline and integrated with their team.

No. AI assistance is prohibited for every part of the membership application. Applicants must submit their own answers; using AI will result in disqualification.

Members must be consistently available Wednesdays at 9:00 PM Eastern and Saturdays at 8:00 PM Eastern. Those two operating windows are the minimum attendance requirement—not the full level of involvement JTFO expects. We are looking for people who genuinely want to train, operate, improve, and contribute beyond checking an attendance box. If your goal is to participate only at the bare minimum, JTFO is not the right unit for you.

Scheduled operations normally last 2–3 hours. Members should be ready before the published start time and remain available through mission completion and any required debrief.

No. Applicants must have stable, consistent availability for JTFO's published operating times. If your schedule routinely varies between 8:00 PM and midnight Eastern and prevents you from guaranteeing the required operating windows, you need not apply.

Every submission is reviewed manually by the Recruitment Cell and unit leadership. Candidates selected for further action are contacted directly through the recruitment process. Do not message staff or leadership separately to request status updates.

Assessment & Selection is JTFO's initial evaluation phase. It tests whether a candidate can follow instructions, remain accountable, communicate effectively, apply feedback, and perform to standard under pressure. Entry is selective by design.

Successful candidates advance into the Operator Training Course. Passing selection earns the opportunity to continue training; it does not mean the development process is complete.

OTC develops candidates through five progressive pillars: marksmanship, close-quarters battle, advanced assault skills, core operator qualifications, and full-mission profiles. The goal is to prepare graduates to integrate effectively with their assigned JTFO team.

JTFO intentionally withholds the duration and detailed timelines for Assessment & Selection, OTC, and follow-on development. Candidates receive the information required for preparation and scheduling at the appropriate stage of the entry pipeline. Advancement remains performance-based and instructor-validated rather than guaranteed by time spent in training.

Every operator will serve in an assault team first. Expect to spend approximately 6–8 months—or longer—building experience there before being considered for transfer to an adjacent unit or element. Reaching that time-in-service window makes an operator eligible for consideration; it does not guarantee a transfer. Movement still depends on performance, qualifications, vacancies, unit needs, and chain-of-command approval.

The exact download size changes as mods and dependencies are updated, so JTFO does not publish a static gigabyte figure that can quickly become inaccurate.
